Keeping our customer's safe during your treatments at Contour Couture
How are Contour Couture providing better safety for their customers in their treatment clinics?
Safety is the number one priority for our customers and staff. We have always kept our clinics sterile but with the Covid pandemic, Contour Couture have decided to step up to another level in terms of ensuring that the clinics are kept completely sterile in between customer treatments.
Most clinics are improving the cleaning of their treatment and waiting rooms by using anti-bacterial cleaning solutions and wiping down surfaces between appointments - this is a minimum requirement now and whilst it reduces the risk of passing on Covid 19 or other harmful infections, it is not completely effective. For example, if a customer sneezes or coughs, micro droplets will spread throughout the room so unless every square inch of the room is wiped down between appointments, which is not practical, bacteria will be missed and have the potential to be picked up by the following customers or the practitioner.
What are we doing over and above other clinics?
To ensure the highest safety for our customers, in addition to only allowing one customer at a time, ensuring hands are washed/disinfected and ensuring practioners wear PPE, we are introducing Cold Fogging between every appointment. This is where we use a special fogging machine to spray hypochlorous acid – known more widely as HOCl around the room – the fogging machine allows the HOCI to reach all areas of the room. HOCl has been previously described as ‘the gold standard by which all antiviral, antibacterial agents must now be compared’. It is 100 times more effective as a disinfectant than bleach, killing germs and viruses instantly leaving the room sterile ready for the next appointment.
How safe is it?
Hypochlorous acid, unlike chlorine bleach, is 100% safe, non-irritating and not corrosive. Various concentrations of hypochlorous acid are used in the food industry, for eye and wound care and as a surface disinfectant. So, if it gets on your skin or in your eyes, it will not burn. Even if it were accidentally ingested, it is non-toxic.
How does fogging actually work?
The solution is placed into the reservoir of an ultra-low volume fogging machine that will create a mist (not a spray) of the solution. Now comes the fun part. We point the fogger at one corner of the ceiling and begin spraying a fine mist all the way around the perimeter. Then distribute it evenly in “stripes” across the rest of the ceiling. Within a couple of minutes, the room is dry and ready for the next customer. This will ensure that airborne pathogens are inactivated within less than 10 seconds of coming in to contact with the biofogg.
As far as we are aware, no other clinics are taking this level of precaution so if you have any doubts make the safe choice and book your treatment with Contour Couture.
