What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal uses a laser beam of light that emits heat when it finds its target. The laser is directed to the hair follicle. The heat destroys the cells lining the follicle, meaning it can no longer do its job. The damaged cells are reabsorbed back into the body. As the follicle has been destroyed, this means the hair either won’t grow back, or will grow back eventually, but not for some months.
why have this treatment?
Unlike other hair removal options, our medical-grade Laser Hair Removal technology means fast, safe, cost-effective, reliable and permanent hair reduction.
It's convenient and cost-effective and over a period of time significantly less cost than waxing.
How many treatments will I need?
We recommend a series of 8-10 treatments minimum and maintenance treatments every 2-3 months for permanent hair reduction but this can vary from client to client
For the facial area, treatments should be done in 4-week intervals and the body 6-week intervals
Does Laser hair removal hurt?
One of the benefits of Laser Hair Removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. We use an advanced cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort
How it works
Contour Couture's in-Motion protocol ensures safe, comfortable and effective hair removal on most skin types. Our in-Motion works by gradually heating the dermis and damaging hair follicles whilst avoiding injury to the surrounding tissue, rather than exposing hair follicles to the single high-energy pulses seen in other less advanced machines.
The high-power laser diode in the laser module can transform the electric energy into light, then generates the continuous laser beam with the combined wavelength of 755nm, 808nm and 1064nm passing through the light crystal. The laser beam can irradiate the tissue to cause hair removal by passing through the external layer of skin and arriving at the bulge and the root of the hair follicles.
The light energy is absorbed by the melanin in the hair and converted into thermal energy (Selective Photo Thermolysis) increasing the temperature within the follicle causing irreversible damage destroying hair follicles and losing their regeneration capacity.
Combining 3 wavelengths together, 755nm, 808nm, 1064nm, offers great results for most skin types and hair colour including golden blonde hair and fine hair. An Ambient tan can also be treated.
